They might have done a cover of it during a concert. Like Girls Aloud covering 'Teenage Dirtbag'...

At some point, sometimes I'd rather an artist mime. Not for the whole concert, but maybe towards the end, when they start losing their voices. There was a video some years back of Chris Martin singing "Clocks" live. It must have been towards the end because he sounds just...awful. Not that he's that great of a singer to begin with, but he's decent enough. It's great that he wants to be "real", but, come on. It was a bit painful to listen to. So, if you get to point where you sound like a cat or dog being slowly tortured, mime.

Sometimes miming is beneficial that way, you're right, people wouldn't really notice unless they were looking for it or if the artist got caught.

I'm the oposite, the only time I think mining is acceptable is if you have a sore thoat or something and can't cancel the show. If you are a singer you should be able to sing live the entire way though, if you can't then choose another profession!

Still, with all the work they have to do when they sing sometimes it's better for them to mime. Better that they do it during videos and certain smaller events that would go practically unnoticed that way when they get to being in concert they aren't exhausted or strained.

I guess it's a little different for US artists because there is so much more that needs to be done, with the uk being a smaller country there are less arenas to play than there would be in America, so in that respect it's completly understandable the need to mime sometimes. But over here artists that mime generally aren't very popular. With shows like the x factor where unknown acts sing live every week under a lot of pressure, we expect the professionals to be able to sing live. The current boyzone tour barbarellas are on there has only been 20 dates over 6 or 7 weeks so it's not that hard for them to sing live every night.

Don't get me wrong,if an artist gets caught miming anywhere they get a lot of issues for it. It's all a matter of people not noticing, and the artist just not getting caught.
On a whole other note once again...my room mate is an attention seeking @$$. For real,I just got home from work, shut up and leave me alone.

And, of course, if you get caught miming you can always...do a silly little dance and run off the stage.

*cough*AshleeSimpson*cough* for real,if you get caught, just play it off and keep going. It only makes it worse if you draw more attention to it than there needs to be.
