I always thought they were saying "high street brat"...
"Couldn't make it as a high street rack" doesn't really make much sense... Or maybe it's some slang I'm not getting.

It could possibly be "I don't lie"?

I'm hearing "I'm getting close to thirty, and I'm just taking my time."

That may not make much sense now as they are past the age of 30 at this point, but remember the original demo was released a few years ago. It's a possibility that they just didn't change the lyric. It's also a possibility that I'm hearing it wrong... But when I listen to it in my headphones, I'm pretty sure I hear "thirty".
