Glee

Anybody into glee here? I grew up with 90s pop music so I watch it every week, I'll watch any type of music show be it reality or fictional show. I love the hearing different types of music and what different singers do to the songs and some of the glee versions I find I like better than the original songs.

Yep I've been watching it since it started, I really enjoy it. They are coming to UK with their tour in the summer, I got tickets to see them at th O2

I'd like to go but the tickets were very expensive, but I'll take a look at getting some off eBay.

Yeah they are but for me its a treat, and dont forget added to this is return flight to London and an overnight stay in a hotel for me. I'm trying to remember back but I'm pretty sure the last concert I went to was the B*witched one in 99 ! So I guess that I'm due a treat. Kinda hoping there might be a Barbarellas gig on somewhere around london at that time, probably be the only chance I'll get to see the girls again :-(

I think Lea Michele is one of those performers you either love or hate, no in between, personally I think shes incredibly talented a singer but I know others find her voice annoying

I totally understand the extra expenses when it comes to gigs, the last 2 times I've seen barbarellas it's has cost in excess of £200 for travel and hotels, with most of their gigs at clubs they are on at 2.30 in the morning so there's little choice but to stay over night and im unemployed at the moment so you can imagine how difficult it's becoming to see them live.

And yes lea is one if those singers but I agree I like her too and you can't fault her voice.

I saw the show last night, was good but wasn't expecting Gwenyth Paltrow to come on and sing Cee-Lo !!

I beg to differ.

I did watch the Rocky Horror episode, and I felt that the girl who plays Mercedes is a much stronger vocalist than Lea.

Then again, they do need to pick better songs most days as well.

Amber Reilly has a very powerful voice but to me she's kinda a one-trick pony, thats really all she can do, I'm not sure what kinda of job she'd do with a ballad that require tenderness in the voice. I'm sure I read somewhere she was a runner-up in American Idol or Americas Got Talent (all these shows merge into one to me, cant stand any of them). Some of the song choices are odd but I think as the show gets more popular the record companies who licence the song for use put pressure on them to do latest songs by their artist as promotion

Shame... but it'd be nice if they did a Vanessa Amorosi/Aussie soundtrack episode - filled it with relatively unknown to the US songs....
