Whether they like it or not, that's going to be where most of the comparisons lie. Everybody new gets compared to somebody old, and it's usually, as Hayley says, someone with "similar styles".
Also, who cares whether or not she's pretty? The comparison is based on style of dress and music, not her physical appearance.

Unless it was a video interview with them saying 'lady gaga is not pretty' then I don;'t really believe it. I think we all know what journalists are like. They add to the story/article to make it more interesting, so most of those are prob just BS.
Plus there is a differerence between what Barbarellas wear and what Lady Gaga wears. Edele and Keavy wear the high fashion stuff for the look itself. Gaga is wearing whatever to make a statment or trying to shock people.
But either way, I think its good that both artists are trying to come up with new looks =]

You sound like me last year, and I'd love to get back to thinking like that. I love big and play dirty and halo, they are all amazing songs and I can't wait till the album comes out so I guess I'm just disappointed that the songs they are releasing doesn't show new fans there true potential and I'm affraid this new image isn't going to attract the amount of fans that they deserve to have. However we don't know what the future plans are so maybe things aren't all they seem. But right now I'm still not sure about the song or the video.

Well,the look can't do all the work for them,hopefully their music will attract the amount of fans they want and deserve. The best we can do is keep supporting them,which of course we will. Barbarellas,like Gaga,are performers and will keep at it for as long as they can. Besides,they've been successful in the past,why not now? We'll just have to see where it goes and wish them the best.

Who's prematurely judging, I wasn't keen on the first single and so far I'm not liking the second single. But I love their other tracks and can't wait for the album. This thread had gone a little off topic from my original question about what people think of Night Mode. However I will stand by what I have said and it's only my opinion but at the moment I'm not crazy on the image. I will always support the girls whatever they do, and they know that, so if I've given you guys the wrong impression of me I apologise but I'm not going to lie about what I think of the songs.

I think its perfectly fine Hayley that you have your own opinions. there is nothing worst than a kiss ass fan who says they love everything a musician does, just for the sake of it being one of their favorite musicians. I don't think there is a single artist out there where I love every single one of their tracks, or like every costume they have.
As for the clip of Night mode from the TV show, I'm not too sure if I like it yet. It reminds me a little of 'Bulletproof' by whats her face. I just hope the final version isn't too disimilar from the original.

What I'm saying, Hayley, is that I'm withholding judgement until I hear the new version, completed in it's entirety. You, my dear, I'm afraid might have taken me a bit personally. I don't form an opinion on a movie if I only see the trailer, and I'm not forming an opinion on the song until I hear the whole song. Ya feel me, dawg?
I guess I can't/won't give an opinion now because I'm waiting to hear the whole song. I'm sorry.
As for their new sound, in and of itself, I do like it, for the most part. The "main subject matter", let's call it, does get to be a little much. Honestly, I was worried that every song on the album was going to be about booty (gettin' some booty, wanting to get some booty, thinking about booty, just lots and lots of booty-ness) and that may have deterred me a bit. I don't care much for the wigs. The rest of it, I can go either way on. But those darn wigs...

for those of you who don't know, "booty" refers to sex.

Lol ok, sorry Erin, I'm having a bad week and taking everything the wrong way lol. The wigs are growing on me but very slowly, I'd still prefer them without em but I don't think they will ditch them. I wouldn't mind an album full of bootyness just as long as I loved the songs so much that I never wanted to stop playing them. I think there is a bit of variety on the album or atleast that's what I've heard.
On a different note this topic has got people talking again!!!

Keavy and Edele are quite attractive, in my opinion, but, unfortunately, the wigs sort of steal some of that away. They don't really suit them. They don't make them horribly ugly or anything, but it's like,...not every style looks good on every head, you know? Remember that horrid Snow White wig that Keavy herself even said was horrid? Well, to me, the wigs they wear now are not much better.
We need to start a separate thread about Barbarellas wigs and costumes, so we can discuss them more at length and not stray off topic.
I'm still waiting for some of the new fans to give their opinion on the music and retooling of Diet Coke (now called Night Mode). I know you're out there. I can sense your lurking.
