As for Lady Gaga...well..she IS weird...and people DO talk about it...but it's not news.

Miley Cyrus "acts out" as an attempt to cut herself away from her 'Hannah Montana' image. But, honestly, I haven't observed any of her actions as noteworthy controversy. Just a teenager, trying to reach adulthood as fast as possible (same with any of us at that age), and wanting to be taken seriously in her chosen profession.
Lady Gaga is eccentric. She's an artist. She's an attention-grabber. I see nothing wrong with being a little "odd". I expect my entertainers to be a little above normal. And, other than her choice of outfits, she isn't that weird in comparison to some of the other entertainers out there.
The highlight of that night should have been the Michael Jackson tribute. Unfortunately, it was overshadowed by Kanye West's irreverent jack-a$$ery.
As far as wondering what if it were the other way around, I don't put that type of behavior past Mr. West, as he as behaved similarly in the past. But I can't imagine Taylor Swift doing such a thing, so the argument seems moot. If she ever did, her "b*tch status" would go up a notch. And, yeah, I think people would talk about it.
