You knew I'd bring it in eventually... just when, was the question. For all the others who haven't a clue what's going on, this is a story I started on the better official L*Boards, and it contains a few of the members from there. I'll post what I have, and maybe I might add to it some day soon. CHAPTER ONE: Getting There On Time
Mel wakes up. "Oh, great. Another dumb school day," she drags herself into the bathroom. - Her on-off friend, Kat, on the other hand, was all dressed, ready for another day. And, she was trying to hide her hangover. "I'm not being Ms Carpool again..." her sister, Lindsay, started. "'Course not! I'm catching the bus," Kat replied, trying to sound convincing. "Well, it's about frigging time you did..." "Yeah, yeah..." - An hour later, Erin was still sleeping, then all of a sudden... "HOLY nuts!" she races for the door, grabs her stuff and walks out. "Take the car," big sister, Uma, calls out, "you'll never make it on time catching that old thing." - "Hello? Are you awake?" Katie calls from the opposite side of Allie's bedroom door. "I know you're up, I just heard you..." "I'M NOT GOING!" Allie demands, "it's too horrible." "Oh, come off it already. It's only school..." "Easy for you to say, you don't have to go." "But I did go, and I got picked on, too. But I still got up and went anyway, and now look where I am." "But it's the senior year, can't I just quit?" "No way," Katie opens the door, and drags her sister out of bed. "You're going to go, and you're gonna kick some dumb arses, well, arse in that exam or whatever..." "Nah-uh, I ain't goin'..." -- The bus drives past Allie's place. Kat whispers, "I wonder how late she'll be this morning." -- "Yes, you are, and that's that." Katie takes her sister by the wrist, and drags her into the car. "Now if you get out you won't be allowed to go anywhere until I die, right?" "Fine!" Allie crosses her arms, and buckles up, just as clothes are thrown at her. "Now I know you won't arrive in [Winnie The] Pooh pyjamas, so I got you some good looking stuff. But, we're all out of make-up." Allie mumbles to herself as the two travel to school, the younger one changing their clothes. -- On the bus: "So... did you get the assignment for English?" Annie asks. "I got it. But it's not going to be easy..." Kat starts to respond. "You betcha it's not!" Mel remarks, with drenched hair, munching on an apple. "Ergh, do you talk to your mother like that..." Kat asks. "What mother?" Mel displays a cheeky grin, showing apple between her teeth, then shuts it quickly and finishes her apple. "Right..." Annie notices tension between her friends, "anyway..." - Claire yawns as she walks along the footpath, then sighs. "I'm so lucky." Her parents drive past, honking their horn. She waves back, as her sibling races to pass her. "Popular child coming through," Amy exclaims, knocking Claire over. "Ha!" - They get off the bus. "Guess where I'm going," Mel gloats. Annie, being optimistic, guesses, "nowhere so you can spend time with us?" Kat, still being out of it, exclaims, "piss up at Mel's this weekend, yeah," then falls to the ground. "Hardy ha, Kat, but, alas, no," Mel looks at the crowd. "No, no party at mine." She then looks back at her friends. "One more guess, before Claire gets here." But, it was too late. Claire had got there, looking like she had just been spat out of a tornado. "Morning all..." Annie giggles at the sight of Claire, "how far'd you get this morning, darl', two centimetres?"; "Shut it, Annie..." Claire snaps, then mumbles as she fixes her hair. The bell goes off, and the playground goes into rollcall.Chapter Two: Sexhair And English
"Wagner... Wagner..." Rollcall has begun, and the teacher does an odd name calling... "Allie Wagner..." "I'm here, I'm here..." Allie bursts into the room, and takes a seat. The class laugh at her as she takes her seat. "What? What you laughin' at?" "Thurman... Thurman... Erin Thurman..." Erin has not made it. "She's not here... again." Allie looks around, but finds that, yet again, she is left to sit alone. - Manuel, who was late due to what Mel calls "sexhair", turned up after rollcall, just as he always does. "Nice of you to join us, Manny," Mel giggled, immediately noticing his hair. "Another late night, I take it?" she questions, taking his hat off his head. "Hey, nobody touches me hat, got that?" He snatches the hat back, then looks at Kat. "At least I don't need sunglasses!" he smirks. "Shut it..." Kat angered more in her state, then they went to English. - "Melissa?" Miss Lois never gave enough credit to her students... "Melissa, I need to talk to you..." "All right, all ready," Mel mumbled under her breath as she slowly walked towards her teacher. "Look, I've been noticing that you are not being bothered to do any work recently. Why is that?" Mel now had to think of an excuse that was believable as to why she couldn't concentrate in class... Then she got the perfect lie: "I just had the worst break-up of my life because the guy dumped me for no reason and he was cheating with this drop-dead gorgeous girl and my guardian isn't here often enough to be emotionally involved so I haven't been able to really concentrate and stuff..." She then pretended to ball her eyes out. "Oh, my, I didn't know, I'm so sorry. You can have the rest of the lesson off if you wish." So, she did.Chapter Three: Trouble-A-Brewin'
Both Erin and Mel look into the school ladies room mirror, and simultaneously apply more lip gloss to their lips. "You're lying to your teacher as well, aren't you?" Erin asks, as Kara enters. Mel checks the scene, making sure no one else is around, then comments, "Have a good weekend, girls?" Kara, who just flushed the rest of her cigarette down the toilet, just gives Mel her best evil look, (which Erin laughs at) then exits. "Actually, I didn't really," Mel then answered. "See, I know that no teacher within these grounds know that I'm just a heart-breaker who isn't a 'dumpee' but a 'dumper'." "No... you didn't..." Erin says, pressing her lips together. "Yeah, I did use that one," Mel smirks at her friend, then they both walk out, as if they were on a mission from Charlie's Angels. - Meanwhile, Kat, Allie and Tasha were still in class. "Now, for homework year..." "Can I go now?" Tasha asks, out of the blue. "No, Miss Jolie, you can't. You've skipped enough lessons this year as it is. Now, as I was saying, your homework is to finish the task you were all meant to do last week." The class start moaning and groaning at this. "But miss, I did it," one student up the back up the back called out. The bell rings, and before their teacher could say anything else, the class packed up and left - Kara storms up to Mel. "What makes you think you can achieve by skipping classes..." "In case you didn't notice this," Mel holds up a piece of paper and waves it into Kara's face, "it states that I have permission to be out of class." She then gives Kara a 'ha, ha' smile and joins the rest of her friends. "What was she talking to you for?" Claire asks. "Yeah, I thought you hated each other..." Annie adds. "We do... she-who-I-won't-name thought I was out of class for no reason, which I wasn't," Mel answers. "Well, put it this way, Mel, you're better than that 'I'm a smoker and now think I'm all that' DeGeneres girl, anyway," Allie says. Tasha and Erin are behind the rest, arm in arm. "How do I look, Tashapoo?" Erin shows Tasha photos from some function just passed. "Umm..." Tasha thinks, "Drop dead..." Another bell rings, and the group now head off to their next class. "Does my hair look better now?" Manuel asks. "Ha, ha... you get more action in that bathroom than with you girl, don't you!" Kat laughs, in her hangover state. "Oi, Phil, this way," Mel calls, just as Amy runs past them again, this time to try and stare at Phil, who stopped at the mere sight of the youthful girl. "Hello Amy..." he says, getting an evil look from Claire, as everyone else is now rushing to class.Chapter Four: Detention With Ms Lynch
Detention: The place where extremely late people go; the time that is a 'drag' of a time to students with a good heart. But more importantly, a place wherever your teacher expects you to be if you misbehave. Onward with the story...
Manuel is sitting next to Phil, who is next to Kat, sitting opposite Claire, who is leaning on Mel's shoulders, who keeps tapping Allie's arm, who is looking across at Erin, kissing Tasha on the cheek, who is seeing a blurry vision of Kara and Ari, chattering away among themselves. Annie is hiding under the table, texting her mother. An unknown teacher walks in. She, unlike the rest of the staff at the school, was without colour. Not even her clothing had a hint of a more common teacher colour scheme. The students look at her. Manuel whispers to Kat, "and you thought I looked bad..." "SILENCE, in my classroom!" The students kept quiet. "Now, for all of you that don't know me, I am the detention teacher, Ms Lynch." Annie crawled her way to the door, but Ms Lynch was to fast for her. "But my mum is..." Annie started, but it seemed like there was no use for that. "I don't care, Miss, you are to go back to wherever you came from..." Annie was still, looking at Ms Lynch's face, thinking "she looks familiar". "NOW!" Annie snapped out of it and immediately crawled back under that table, and decided to sleep. You could now see that the other tables were full of the rough/tough students that occasionally float around classes. You could also see that Ms Lynch obviously had not got the best childhood, therefore does not let anyone overpower her. "Let us get to it, then. Now, who doesn't need to be here?" Everyone's hands suddenly shot up, and Amy burst into the room. "I'm sorry I'm late but there was this..." Amy caught sight of Ms Lynch, and crawled under the table with Annie. "Okay, you all just got five more minutes. Thanks to the girl that just entered." Annie opened her eyes, and saw Amy. "AAAAAAAAAAAAHhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" She ran out of the room without her stuff. Amy just shrugged, and waited for her to return - which, she did, Keavy dragging her. Keavy looked at the teacher, who stared back. Everyone else watched the pair, as they kept exchanging different looks. Then, Keavy spoke. "So we agree, then, my daughter will do the time another day?" Silence filled the room. "Fine!" Ms Lynch muttered, slamming closed the open book on her desk. Annie grabbed her stuff, farewelled her friends, then followed Keavy's lead in departing. Ms Lynch just sat in silence for the remainder of the detention period. The whole room followed her lead. - On the way home, Keavy was quiet, while Annie did a detailed description of the happenings of today. "And then Mel tells us she's going away again this weekend, but no one knows where yet, as we haven't had enough time to find out..." "That sounds nice, dear, but can you tell me later?" Keavy was too busy trying to focus on her driving. "Okay..." Annie fell silent. She had never seen her mum act like this. 'Did it have to do with me? Did it have to do with Ms Lynch? Did they used to know each other,' she thought to herself. Just then, Keavy swerved the car, just missing a flock of geese crossing the road, and then she started speeding home. Sirens started going off, and Keavy pulled over. - "Today is so not the day for me, is it?" Keavy asked, unlocking the front door. "What do you mean?" Annie enquired, hoping to get something from her mum, who she thought she was so close to - until now. "I thought I left my past behind me and moved on when we arrived here."More soon.

Yes, it is. I don't think you put anyone down as your celebrity "sibling", or noticed the topic(s)... until now.

That would defeat the purpose of you being hungover in school & stuff... besides, it's more fun being involved in your friends' lives, yes? Also, Sydney (am I right) - I did this story long before that Jo person took over the L*Boards.
CHAPTER FIVE: That "Twin"; Thing...
Mel looked at Allie and both thought the worst: Annie will be killed this time. But neither of them spoke, as Amy decided to climb onto another table and do a strip tease. Claire just covered her face as Manuel and Phil raced over to get a closer look. "She is so not my sister, I swear," she whispered to Erin and Mel. "At least it's not..." Mel paused. "At least it's not who?" Erin asked. "...Alexia, holy crap..." Mel grabbed her belongings and ran out of the classroom, leaving a hand-written apology on her way out. Kat just stared at Amy. "Lucky b***h," she muttered under her breath, then looked to find Mel. "Where'd she go...?" Tasha and Erin just look at the various notes that need parents' signatures, and forge them, avoiding the sight of Amy's strip teasing show. The bell rang, signalling half-time, and all but a few students fled the classroom. - Alexia paced back and forth, starting to get impatient with her sister. Immediately, as the bell rang, Mel showed up. "Long story, I'll explain in a bit..." Mel said, as they both raced into the nearest girls' toilets, and started to *switch outfits*. "So... what took you?" Alexia asked as she was buttoning up the blouse Mel was wearing before. "I was sent to detention..." "What?!? I mean, who by?" "Blabbermouth..." Kara walked into the toilets, again. Alexia hid to the nearest toilet, out of Kara's sight, while Mel kept quiet, changing from her pants into Alexia's skirt. Kara took one look around, then left again, in silence. "...her. It's all her fault! I'll be lucky if Vanessa hasn't been called today..." "Everyone knows that Kara's the school b***h," Alexia assured her sister, taking the pair of pants out of her hands. Soon enough, both were dressed and ready to go. Ari walked in, looked at the two girls, and said, "I'm loving those outfits, girls," then the three of them walked out. - Kara sat in the office, waiting for someone to turn up. Just as planned, her sister Ellen arrived. "It's about time..." "Do you know how long it took to get from where I was to here, just to pick you up?" Kara shook her head, and let her sister do the talking as they walk out f the school grounds. "You can't just keep deciding to be feeling 'sick' all the time... what's happened today?" - Kat looked at Alexia. "There's something different about you, Mel..." she kept saying. Both Alexia and Mel observe, as Kat tries to prove that Alexia is Mel... Tasha looked on as well, but not for long, as Erin placed her hands over Tasha's eyes and turned her around. "Why do I see two of you..." Kat hiccups, then blinks and shakes her head. "Hi, Alexia, where've you been?" "'Bout time you got outta that, Kat. I've been to the orthodontist." Alexia says, showing her the newly placed braces. - Both Gregory and Anne impatiently wait for their older sister. "Where could she be?" "She's meant to be showing us how to..." Just then, Lindsay opens the car door. "Come on you two, we don't have all day to..." "I'm right here," Kat says, getting out of her little hiding spot. "Sorry, guys," she says to her siblings, as she gets into the front seat of the car. All three observe Lindsay's face, which has turned a bright red. - Ari is waiting in the office, as Sinead is talking to the principal in a secluded room. She sighs, as Phillipa sits down next to her. "You know it's all going to be okay, right? You know what she's like, I'm sure she'll be okay after we get home..." Just then, Vanessa drags in both Mel and Alexia, who sit down next to Ari as Vanessa walks into the secluded room. "Not you, too," the twins (Mel and Alexia) say at the sight of Ari. "Where's..." "...Cathy?" "She went away this morning, said it was work-related..." - "Let's go home, honey," Erin said, as Tasha just skipped around her. "All right," Tasha agreed, and they both raced towards the car.
*They both wear boob-tube tops underneath the blouse, Mel a black one and Alexia a striped gray and white one.*
CHAPTER SIX: The Mystery Of It All
Annie sits in her room, not too sure of what happened. 'She's never like this,' she thought, as she tried to figure out how today could have happened. Jonathan (affectionately known as "Bagpipes" to his mates) then opens the door, and joins her. "I can't figure it out, y'know?" Annie says to him. "Don't worry, I've been in her life longer than what you have, Annie, and I still don't get how she kept that secret..." "What secret?" - Mel picked up the phone. "Hello?" "What do you think you're doing, Melissa?" Vanessa stormed into the room. Mel holds her hand up, silencing her sister. "Yep, uh-huh, okay then... See you." "Who..." "Wait. Alexia needs to be in here..." "Ya?" Alexia popped her head inside, knocking Vanessa out of the way, and sitting on Mel's bed. "Our real dad wants to meet us..." Mel said, once the tension died down. Alexia gave both Mel and Vanessa a concerned look. "But why didn't he want..." "Apparently it was a representative. St... Stagman, or someone rather like that." Vanessa raised an eye-brow, not entirely convinced. - Lindsay sent both Anne and Gregory to their soccer game, then drove in complete silence home. Which was why Kat got slightly confused when her sister picked up the phone to call... - Katie picked up her phone, which had been ringing almost non-stop all afternoon. "Katie Wagner speaking... oh, hello Vanessa..." - "Was Allie in detention, too?" - "Yeah, what's going on around here?" - Keavy had been trying to get her mind to sleep all afternoon, pacing back and forth, then trying to sit still. Eventually, she gave up and pulled out the untouched (for about twenty years) black boxes, and pulled out everything. "The forbidden pile," she mumbled, as she grabbed an overflowing photo album. - Tasha and Erin had been cruising the streets all afternoon. "Uma insisted that I use some petrol as she left me the keys." "I have to be home soon, I just know it..." "Oh, all right, I'll drive you home." - After Katie, Courtney and Natasha got off the phone, Allie called up the first number she could remember and hid in her room. - "Hello, Sawalha place," Phil answered. - "Were you staring at Claire's bratty sister today? Or was that just my imagination?" Allie demanded down the phone. - "In case you forgot, I was merely hoping that you'd understand that if we keep this private that we can't make it obvious. So I am pretending to like Amy so that at least Claire doesn't suspect." - "Okay. Well, I'm calling her up..." Allie put Phil on hold and dials away. - "Hi, sorry. Only cool people call..." Amy started. - "Not in the mood for prostitute wannabe freakazoids like you. Put your sister on, please," Allie's tone was firm enough to actually scare Amy into doing so. Allie then added Phil back into the conversation. - "Hello?" - "Hi Claire, Phil and Allie here," Phil replied. - "Hi guys. How weird was today?" Claire asked. - "I know," Allie agreed, "Katie and Vanessa still can't figure it out, and they were non-stop chattering." - "Hang on, call waiting..." Phil puts them on hold. - Sinead looks at Ari, who is just folding her clothes. "Knock, knock." "Mum... did you sort this out?" Sinead frowned. "Not yet. But we will." - Paul just shrugged at Manuel came in to the living room. DJ just sat there, as if he was daydreaming. But Manuel knew what was up - they were annoyed. - Kara and Ellen, sitting in the car for a while, decided to do a girlie shop. After they couldn't shop no more, they decided to then enjoy a nice elegant dinner just out of town. Their parents didn't suspect a thing wrong, but every other family did...
CHAPTER SEVEN: The Forbidden Box
Keavy, leaving everything she had out where it was, walked outside to clear her mind. Annie watched her go. ("Mum, mum...") but her words meant nothing, as Keavy just started sprinting. "Let her go, Annie," Jonathan appeared by Annie's side. - Tasha walked inside, Angelina waiting for her. "Were you out with that troublemaker..." "Erin is not a troublemaker, Angelina. You know that." Tasha stormed up to her room and slammed the door. - Erin drove straight home. "Honey, I'm home," she sung, knowing that someone would be around. - While on her jog, Keavy tried to think of how her so-called perfect new life could be ruined, just like that. 'Maybe I should just tell Annie the truth. Why we're here, why no one else would accept me, not even my family'. - Annie was walking slowing around the house, when she saw Keavy's mess. She decided to go in and find out what exactly Keavy was looking at, but instead, she just started packing it away. "I thought you'd end up here," Keavy appeared in the doorway as Annie held up a photograph of a younger Keavy with a lot of people she didn't recognise, including someone that looked like Ms Lynch. Annie had so many questions that she wanted Keavy to answer. Then she just looked at her mother, and sat down on the bed, and asked one. "Why did you open the 'forbidden box'?" Keavy followed her daughter's lead, and also sat down. "This box was long before you came along, before I knew of Jonathan." - Vanessa was worried about her neighbourhood. "This place was the ultimate friend-zone, no enemies..." Mel mumbled, "except the DeGeneres'..." "No, that's just Kara. Her mum and sister are super nice," Alexia reminded her twin. "Right, anyway..." Vanessa went on, "even Keavy Lynch, the friendliest resident, has changed." "She has?" Alexia was puzzled. Mel answered that. "You should have heard her in detention today, she was as furious as..." - Lindsay had left to pick up Anne and Gregory, leaving Kat locked in her room. 'What can I do? I can't climb out ... no window. I can't call anyone ... no phone... a-ha! PC...' Kat logged on to the internet and surfed her way through her popular sites and logged into her online messenger service. - Claire sat down and ate her dinner like a good girl. Amy, in total contrast, was up in her room, making 'noise' with a boy who she hid in there before their parents came home. "How was your day," Claire's mother (Deborah) asked her, just as she had gulped the last piece of potato. "Not too good." (Drink, chew, chew, swallow) "What happened," her father asked. "I had to go to detention with some woman who thought she was an army officer or something... and Annie's mum was furious at her..." "Keavy Lynch?" "Furious?" Both parents were concerned, and Deborah went straight to the phone. - "Armaou phone... oh, hi Deborah. What's up?" Kat heard her sister talking to Claire's mum, and got off the computer to get dinner. "What's going on?" Anne asked, her eyes fixed on their oldest sibling. "I think Annie's mum's going insane..." Kat shows a 'crazy' sign with her hand. "She was a bit weird when she walked past my group of friends at lunch today..." Gregory commented. The three siblings ate their dinner in peace, as Lindsay was still talking to Deborah. "Yeah, I heard about that. I do hope she's okay, really I do... yeah, I wish that too... I better go, my dinner's getting cold. I'll try and see Keavy, okay?" - "Okay then, bye Lindsay." Deborah had a concerned look on her face. "What is it, mum?" - Kara lied in bed, as she always did when her parents served some freshly cooked dinner. Her father had banned her from eating at the table when she was six, she never asked why. Ellen was all right, though, she was not his natural-born child. Kara sighs, as Ellen sneaked in a tiny teacup full of spaghetti bolognaise under the small latch in the door. "Don't starve, okay?" Ellen whispered, and Kara heard footsteps heading away from her. "Yeah, thanks," Kara mumbled, as she gulped the helping in one mouthful. - Phil yawned. "I'm going to bed now, okay mum?" He got no response. "Mum?" He walked into the kitchen to find Julia had been listening to music. "MUM!" Julia turned off her radio. "Yes, honey?" "I'm going to bed, okay?" "Okay then, I'll probably head off soon, too. Night Phil." "Night mum." - Annie, waiting for Keavy to explain what was going on, heard Jonathan start the car. "Okay, are you ready?" Keavy asked, knowing the answer. "Good, now I can begin. This photo you've picked up... that was my family." "Why don't I recognise them, then? What happened to them?" Annie asked, as Keavy bowed her head. "Mum?" Keavy took her time, but answered. "Some of them are probably dead by now. As for the rest ... some of them live in a place far away from here... in another country, in fact. And, one or two of them live right here, in LindsayAville."
CHAPTER EIGHT: The Flashback
Lindsay, being the Lord Mayer of the city, had received a phone call from her office, and got ready to leave. "Work again?" Gregory, being the youngest in the household asked. "Yes, it might not be the most convenient, but it keeps you off the streets." Anne walked into the room, pyjamas fully covering her arms and legs. "Okay Lindsay, you better go, then." She said, feeling as disappointed as Gregory. "Bye Linds, have fun," Kat called from her room. "Go to bed, okay, I want you all asleep when I get home," Lindsay said, then called, "that goes for you too, Kat!" Then she left. - Annie muttered something under her breath, as her mum stopped talking on uneasy ground. "Yes, she's related... actually, she's my sister, Ms Lynch... Never thought she'd be a teacher, but anyway, here goes." Keavy took a deep breath, then started with, "it all started..." - About twenty years ago, a younger Keavy, along with her sisters Tara, Alyson, Naomi, Edele and brother Shane were all crammed into one of those little photo booths... "Stop crushing my arm, Ally," Edele squealed, as she tried to get her head seen. Keavy, always quieter than her younger twin, peeped her head over their brother's head, laughing at what Naomi was doing. - "That's totally unrelated, Madamoiselle Armaou," A representative of France was visiting LindsayAville. "But, we have had criminals from all points of the globe find this place, and grow to become model citizens of the world. Is that not enough..." - Back to the flashback, Shane walked out of the booth, leaving his sisters in there. One by one, three of them followed - Naomi, Alyson and Tara - leaving Edele and Keavy in there to do various funny faces. "Let's freak them out..." Edele suggested. "Okay..." Keavy agreed, and together, the twins set off to plan how much they could freak out their siblings... Flash! Keavy's face was squashed up against the image while Edele's tongue was poking through her twin's ear. "Eww, gross!" Naomi exclaimed, as she showed the other siblings. "Oh gosh, do they always have to do this?" Alyson asked, as she got ready to go home. "Don't know, but they'll grow out of it..." Shane paused, realising what he just said, "I hope." Meanwhile, Keavy and Edele were laughing their heads off about the various faces and plans they had formulated. "Ready to go..." "NO!" Both of the twins said together, as they ran off to the nearest Slurpee machine and grab a frozen drink each. Tara sighs. "They're young.. Naomi, why don't you go play with those two while we pack up..." "Okay." Naomi went towards Keavy, but Edele spotted her first. "You can't sneak up on us, but if you wanna play a game..." And Edele tagged Naomi. "You're it!" The twins ran around in circles trying to lose Naomi. Their plan succeeded, just as Keavy was beginning to lose her breath. "Hey, Eddie..." "Keaves, what's up?" Edele was concerned. "Can we stop now? I think my feet hurt..." Keavy collapsed beside the tree they were hiding from. Edele shouted for help, for anyone, for everyone. Soon enough, Naomi had found them, followed by Shane, Tara and Alyson. - "Mum, you're not telling me what happened.." Annie protested against the longness of her mother's story. "I am... just, let me describe the full memory, and not just the fraction you need." "Oh, all right, Edele was worried, huh?" Keavy continued, "she was. You see, I had never been out of breath before her before..." - Flashing back once again, this time at a hospital ward, Keavy is lying in one of the beds, crowded by her family (now including parents Brendan and Noleen). "What's wrong with her, Doc? Why can't she breathe properly anymore?" Edele questioned the doctor until she had repeated everything ten times. Then, she just sat down and waited for a reply of some sort, while the doctor walked out to test some of Keavy's blood. After two hours, and after various scans and tests, the doctor returned, with some news. "Umm... folks, I don't know if you will like the news or not, if not, you can do something about it..." "Look, Doc, she's my best friend in the whole world and nothing is gonna change that, so what the hell is wrong with her?" "Edele is it? Well, I've done some tests and I can confirm that Keavy here is completely healthy. But, I can also say that she might be pregnant." The family gasped, then walked out of the room. Edele walked back in seconds later. "Look here, Doc, I don't know if you know or not, but I don't like people who lie to us. Same generally goes for people who keep things secret when we're meant to be close. What makes you think she's pregnant without me knowing it?" Keavy then opened her eyes, but wasn't noticed. "She might not even know herself, dearie, which is why I'd like to do another pregnancy test..." He looked at Keavy, who wore the most shocked face, then continued, "if she will allow it..." "Go ahead, Doc," Keavy replied lazily, and pulled on Edele's arm. Edele stuck by her the whole time. A few hours later, Keavy was free to go. "Just remember Keavy, if you change your mind..." "I won't, the alternative is a stupid concept." She growled, and both Keavy and Edele left the ward, hoping to have the others there. But, no one else was waiting for them. "Don't worry, I support you a hundred and a billion percent." Edele said, and they walked home leasurely. As they arrived home, they found all of Keavy's belongings packed and sitting at the door. "If you're gonna be pregnant at your age, we don't want ya," Brendan yelled, and slammed his bedroom door. Keavy sighed. She hoped for her family's support at her decision, but she only hoped. She called a taxi and then said her final farewell to her twin, who she promised to write to every time she could... - "But I doubt she got a single letter, and she's not the one who's here." Keavy broke down, and Annie just placed her arms around her. "Alyson was always dad's favourite, anyway, so why not her read Edele's letters instead..." "Um.. mum? Why don't you just go see her? I mean, Alyson, she might have changed her heart..." "I guess we could try, couldn't we?" And Keavy got changed into better clothes so that Annie could meet one of her aunts.

CHAPTER NINE: Secret Meeting Place
Lindsay sits in her mayor-worthy chair and thinks of a way to get her town out of the mess it was in. Then there was a knock on the door. "Umm.. Ms Mayor, it's Keavy Lynch, she says it's urgent..." "Let her in, Niles," Lindsay assures her assistant, and both Keavy and Annie enter, drenched from the rain outside. "What';s up?" "Well, Lindsay, I need a record of any other 'Lynch's in LindsayAville... I didn't know who else to ask, as it's way past school hours and I was wondering if one of my sisters had decided to move here..." "Keaves? What happened?" Lindsay turned away from her Mayor-like tone & walked up to her friend. "Annie, you go," Keavy couldn't go on. She didn't sit down, but it looked like she has dozed off or something. "Niles! Get me some water & whatever they want." "Right away miss," Niles scampered off. "Now, Annie, you've got to talk to me. What happened?" Annie was hesitant, but knew what she had to do. So, she explained how she got detention and how the teacher looked a lot like her mum, but she knew it wasn't... then Lindsay listened closer as Annie went into details as to how Keavy explained who she was and the story she thought Lindsay would already know. "So we need the address so we can visit my aunt and I can meet her and stuff..." - Mel and Alexia were all set to go on their nightly prowling walk around the 'hood, mainly to catch up with their friends. "You better not go yet, girls, it's pouring out there," Vanessa advised. "We should be fine, Nessie, we're all prepared and we do this every night..." Alexia protested. "Oh, all right, just wear your raincoats, okay?" Mel nodded, as she grabbed her coat and waited for Alexia to put on her shoes. Then both girls left, leaving Vanessa to worry a little. - Kat was still chatting online when she saw two rain coated figure throwing pebbles at her window. She then pulls a coat over her PJs and joins them. "Hey guys, didn't think you'd dare to come tonight..." Mel walked inside and got protesting Anne and Gregory to come with them. "Come on, we've got to hurry and get everyone else," Alexia said, and the trio walked to their next destination. - Claire was just reading The Lord Of The Rings for the seventh time when a ghostly figure stood above her. "Your friends want you... outside. They really should enter the Halloween contest..." "Shut up Amy. I know what you were doing, even if mum and dad don't suspect a thing." Claire snapped back, then grabbed a coat and joined her friends. "Get Amy to come too," Mel said. "No way! She is never..." Alexia insisted, "we'll need her this time, Claire bear..." "I'll try..." Claire went back in and pulled out a now shivering Amy. "What do you think..." "Come on, we don't have much time!" Mel said, and the group hurried off to their next destination, just as Amy said, "sneaking out... nice!" - Natasha and Courtney were coming home later in the night from their dates so Allie and Katie were left on their own. As Katie was about to suggest a movie night, there was a knock on their door. "I'll get it, Katie," Allie said, and scrambled out of the lounge to answer the door. "Hi, guys, I can't..." Anne walked into the Wagner residence, wiped her shoes, said to Katie that Allie had some important business to teach something to her, then grabbed Allie and closed the door. "What's the meaning of this...?" Allie said, as Amy stood there, cursing at the rain hitting her hair. "No time now," the twins insisted, and led the others to their next destination. - Phil was still asleep, when a scream from outside woke him. "Huh? What, I'm up... wait a minute, it's still night." He looked out the window. "Can't this wait, I was dreaming that..." he then saw Allie's face. "Never mind, I'm coming now." He scrambled out of bed and pulled a night coat over his oversized boxers. - Sinead was trying to reason with Ari's reason for being in detention more than anything else. They still hadn't figured out what was going on in LindsayAville, but they were back to normal. "Mum, I honestly didn't do anything, I was only..." Ari looked out the window and saw her friends. "You know what? I'm going to go to bed. We can talk about this tomorrow, or the weekend," she get up and left the room, "or never." She grabbed her coat from the wardrobe and climbed out her window. Kat squinted at Ari's skirt, while Alexia shuddered. "We'll need you to convince..." - Kara sat, alone, in her little pitiful excuse for a bedroom. Which, really, was meant to be a small walk-in wardrobe, but a real room was used for that instead. Any friend or person who knew what was really going on never liked to leave her there all night. - Ari protested. "She'll never be able to..." "Fine, get Ellen involved, then. She'll know what to do," Amy said, as if of experience. - Manuel texted his male friend as to whether or not he was getting the silent treatment, but the only reply he got was 'we'll talk soon' Then, DJ answered the phone. "Hello... yes, I'll tell him. Bye." He hung up the phone. "Manuel, your friends are outside waiting for you..." Manuel scrambled to get dressed (covering up Big Bird boxers), then met his friends. "What's going on?" "No time, Big Bird, gotta grab the others..." - Tasha was visiting Erin, again, apologising for earlier, but before she could ring the doorbell, she got a fright out of Phil's bright green boxers. "Really, Phil, you should warn us before coming out looking like you just..." "Well, at least you weren't woken up..." The two looked at each other, then Tasha proceeded to do as she was going to. "Who is it?" came Zooey's voice. "Tasha and company," Manuel said, and Zooey opened the door. "Get Erin and Alison, and grab your coats... we haven't got much time." Kat said, and soon enough the three Thurman's were ready to go. - Ellen saw Ari waving her hand to come downstairs, so she got Kara out and both of them went outside. "Don't spend too long, I can only use the alibi for two hours." She set Ari's watch on a timer, then walked back inside. "Oh, and make sure she looks exactly the same." - The group arrived at the Lynch residence, and went to the granny flat out the back. No one else had any use for it, so Keavy generally let them hold meetings like this there. Just as they got there, Jonathan pulled into the driveway. "Hi everyone, another meeting already?" "Yeah, but we don't have much time.. Annie home?" - Annie was not home, but travelling to a new establishment with her mother, who was so determined to find out how anyone apart from Edele had ever found out about this place. As they got there, Annie heard two people arguing. "You know she isn't going to forgive you... ever!" Came the first voice. "And who ever asked you to come with me? No one, you're the one who wanted to come with me, so just.. blend in. I'm going to find out everything about this town." Alyson (Ms Lynch) emerged seconds later, looked at Keavy, made a 'humph' noise, then ran around the town. Annie kept her cool. "Come on, we're doing what you need to do." And then she knocked on the door and stood back, Keavy behind her. - Edele was so angry with Alyson that she roared "if you left your keys inside, that's your own d**ned fault!" at the door. Then it knocked again, more determined and less Alyson-like. Edele got up, and answered the door. There was a girl about seventeen years old, which looked slightly like her, who smiled very sweetly at her. She smiled back, as she peered behind the girl at a woman who looked exactly like herself, except without the little facial scars. "Keavy? Is it really you?" Keavy nodded, then broke down and embraced her twin, who embraced her back. Both sisters were emotional about the reunion. Annie let herself into the house.
CHAPTER TEN: Catch Up
Moments later, Edele and Keavy walked inside and sat in the kitchen. Annie had already helped herself to a glass of water as she was seated in one of the chairs surrounding the dining table. "I got all your letters, and I really missed you so much. I wanted you to come back so much, and when you kept moving, I wasn’t sure if we’d ever see each other again. Then, I realised I had to come to the last place your letters were coming from. That’s how I came here. I had to come here, no matter what. You know that." "And I couldn’t come back until it was safe, until everyone had calmed down. And I never got a reply, until last week, with an unknown address on the back. I didn’t know what to think, what to feel, where you were. All I knew is that I wanted to see you so much, to let you into Annie’s life, to explain everything I couldn’t in the letters. But, until today, I didn’t know I could..." Keavy broke off into silence. "Umm... where’s the bathroom?" Annie said, breaking the silence. "Up the hall, second to the right," Edele replied, still smiling at how Annie was so much like her twin and herself. "Thanks," Annie walked calmly in the direction Edele had said. - "Okay, we only have one hour left, everyone, so we have to be quick..." Ari stated. Kat held a bottle of Jack Daniels in her hand, and raised it. "I know a way we can forget about today..." "No way! It’s bad enough I’m here... with the Amorosi trouble duo..." Kara snapped, obviously not pleased to see Mel or Alexia. "Hey! It’s because of us you’re not in that closet hole you call a house," Alexia bit back, "so don’t go saying that we’re worse than you! On another note, Kat, no drinking tonight, it’s not even yours." Jonathan entered, to make sure the group were all right, took the bottle out of Kat’s hand, then offered to get them some snacks. "Thanks Bagpipes, some of us will be leaving soon, though." Gregory spoke up, making sure everyone was back. - Lindsay decided that enough work was done, so she packed up her belongings and headed home, saying "goodnight" to Niles as she walked outside. - "Why am I even here? Nothing that anyone’s mentioned concerns me..." Kara was protesting about being in the meeting… "I wouldn’t complain if I were you," Amy reminded her, "these guys know..." "No one knows anything about me..." Kara bit back, even though she didn’t know what Amy was going to say next. Then Kara stood up. "Just because my sister let you know where I lived, Amy, it doesn’t mean you can just rock up there and make my friend drag me out of bed.. and for what? Nothing. I’m going..." Alexia stood up. "If you want to go back inside that closet you call a room, go ahead." Kara looked shocked, as Alexia continued her rant. "Yes, I know about you, your life, your parents, your sister... you mention it, I know it. Or have you forgotten who was your best friend before you started the rumours about all of us? You see, I had a reason to feel sorry for you, a reason to try and get other parents and caretakers get you out of there. And, I had nearly done so... Until you decided that we – yes, Ari, she’s said nuts about you too – weren’t good enough for you." Kara mumbled, "and you don’t have it better." Mel then joined her sister. "Did anyone, ever, in this meeting, say she was better?" Kara shut up and blinked, slightly nervous. "Exactly. No one here, or anywhere, has said we were better off, but at least we don’t let our disadvantages get to our attitudes. So, if you really don’t want to be here..." Alexia finished the sentence for her, "get the f**k out." Manuel then looked at his friends (and Kara) and whispered to Phil, "I say Kara’s outta 'ere." Phil whispered back, "nah, she'll stay." Allie, who heard the boys' little bet, added, "she might stay, but who knows what rumour she'll spread because we let her in this meeting?" Zooey, at the silence, fell asleep in Manuel's lap. Kat, Claire and Allie just looked wide-eyed at the stand-off between the Amorosi twins and Kara. Then, Annie ran inside and exclaimed, "My mum is a twin, and her twin's moved here to be with us!" "Oh my God, Annie..." Tasha exclaimed, "that’s brilliant!" Alison, along with Gregory and Anne, all were happy. "Wonderful, tell us more..." Mel and Alexia sat back down, gestering to Kara to leave... which, she decided not to do. Kara asked, "why should I go home early when Annie’s cute uncle is around?" Annie couldn’t look more sick in her life. "Attractive? Uncle? Mine?" Jonathan re-enters soon after, offering pizza and some snacks. Kara goes and tries her best pick-up lines, while Annie, Erin and Amy rush over to the food. "Hey, Bagpipes, what do you think we... oh, hello everyone," Keavy burst into the flat, not expecting a full house inside, "what plan are you all working on?" "Not much..." Erin peeped out, checking Ari's watch. "Someone’s gotta go now, though..." But, Kara was too busy with her 'flirting', she didn't notice that Ari was litterally dragging her through the neighbourhood until they were outside her place, where Ellen was waiting impatiently. "I'm sorry Ellen, I didn’t realise how late it was getting..." "The parents will be back soon, and I have to take her back to where she was..." "Okay then, thanks for everything," Ari rushed off, knowing that her part was complete, and tried not to get too wet on her way back to the meeting. "What took ya?" Alexia joked, as Ari was handed a towel (by Jonathan) to dry her hair. "I...don’t...like...rain..." Ari uttered, "anymore." "Well, anyone want to hear our story?" Annie offered, really hyped up over the thought... Jonathan then left again, leaving the mostly girl-filled granny flat to be all ears.
CHAPTER ELEVEN: It Ends But It Begins Again
Annie looked around the granny flat hours later, helping both Jonathan and Keavy to clean up after her friends. "Hey, guys...?" Keavy turned around, but didn’t see anyone, so went back to the cleaning. "Guys?" Ellen stood clearer in the doorway, so they could see her this time. "Oh, erm, hi Ellen. Have a seat... or whatever," Jonathan offered his help, but she didn’t seem to want it. "Look, erm... I have to ask for your help. It’s about Kara..." - Meanwhile, Mel and Alexia were trying to bet on how long Vanessa would notice how wet their coats were while trying to sleep. - And, in another household, Tasha was still arguing with Angelina over what happened to her in the past month with school. "Look, I just can’t keep making excuses for you, Tasha, and you know that I only do because I'm hoping that you'll stop skipping these things – Swimming Carnival, for example..." "But we don’t need to go, Ange. I mean, why should I go when I don't even swim? Honestly..." Tasha storms up to her room and shuts the door. - Kat, on the other hand, was trying to hack into the school's computering system so she could try to erase the detention from everybody's records. "Come on, lights out," Lindsay called from across the hall. "One moment, Linds, I’m doing something very important here..." - Manuel had fallen asleep on the couch, of all places, and all lights are out. -- Bringing in the morning paper is none other than Phil, who decided to make his mother breakfast for a change. "Aww thanks sweetie. But, what’s wrong?" "It’s this new teacher at school, she gave us all detentions, well, except Mel’s twin, but Alexia wasn’t there..." "Oh, is she mean or just...strict?" - "She’s outright pregnant dogy, and ultra rude," Amy was explaining the exact same incident to a friend on the phone. "I mean, she even said I had to go back tomorrow for trying to lighten the place up... yeah, I know, like I'm gonna go again!" - As she got off the bus today, Ari tried to remember all the homework she was meant to do, while trying to find out where Mel and Alexia were going for their weekend away... "Nope, we can’t tell you until you guess," Alexia teased, while skipping away (she linked arms with Kat to achieve this). Mel, on the other hand, was just playing it cool as she followed Kat’s direction.
CHAPTER TWELVE: Another Day...
Backtracking a bit back to earlier that morning, Kat is seen, yet again, arguing with Lindsay. "But Linds, you know that I could be pregnant, you know I could turn..." "Look, Kathryn, you’re not pregnant, you’re not turning into a wolf-slash-hairball, and can you please stop overreacting from the sunlight!" "But...it’s so bright!" "Kat’s got another hangover!" Anne cheered, as she joined her brother & sisters in the kitchen. "Shut it, Anne..." Kat mumbled... -- Meanwhile, Annie wakes up happy, for the first time in a while, and walks into the kitchen. "Morning everyone, the Annie has arrived..." -- Mel & Alexia were packing some clothes for a holiday their friends still had no real idea about... -- Kara was planning a way to ruin herself. -- Allie was, yet again, trying to prolong being in bed. "Time to get up, girls!" Her mum exclaimed. 'Mum’s home?' Allie thought, as she jumped out of bed and raced downstairs. "Oh, you’re not home... goodni..." "Alvenia, where do you think you’re going?" Her dad asked, opening his arms really widely. "Er...I was going to help you get your bags," she lied, then went to do what she said. -- Back to the present, Mel, Kat and Alexia had skipped all the way to Rollcall before anyone realised that Mel and Alexia were avoiding something. "Okay," Kat got serious, "tell me what’s going on with you two..." "We’ll wait until your hangover is gone..." Alexia smiled, as the three skipped right into the room, gaining claps from all the boys (all three girls were wearing matching yet contrasting outfits). -- In another rollcall layout, Tasha sat alone, sighing at the fact that she had no way of escaping the dreaded class... -- Amy, on the other hand, had her own little band of Goths, EMO-tryhards, and even some cool people trying to find out whether or not she was, in fact, wearing any underwear. "Now, my fans, I assure you that all your questions will be answered sometime today, between Recess and Lunch. Until then, I’d advice you keep a lookout for any hints..." "Sorry I’m late, Mr Smith," Manuel burst into the room, not realising it was the wrong room! The class laughed at his state of puzzlement as he saw Amy’s micro-mini dress... -- Ari, sitting with some mates from Primary school, started to talk about her latest addiction. "Well, I’m completely hooked on these Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! They're so nice, and they make them right before your eyes! It’s amazing!" -- Sometime later, Kara turns up in the girls' room, trying to apply mass layers of make-up on her face to cover her worst-look-ever face. Alexia, unsuspectingly, walked right into her, humming her new song. "Oh, sorry..." she mumbled, and washed her hands (and arm, suspiciously) clean.
What’s happened now? Is Amy wearing underwear? Are Allie’s parents home for good? And, why were they skipping?
