news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_bin_ladenSo,we're all from different parts of the world, what's everyone's take on the death of Osama Bin Laden? Frankly,I didn't believe it when I got the slew of text messages, but I watched the video with Obama, read multiple articles etc...and I'm relieved. I still remember where I was on 9/11,I was in my 8th grade English class when my teacher announced it to the class. It was mind blowing,we spent the whole day watching the news in this deafening silence. Then later that day a bunch of us were talking about joining the military,I remember wanting to join the air force. Never got the chance to,and I regret it,though I probably still could...I haven't entirely dismissed the idea yet. So yeah...I figured this would be a fun new thing to talk about...its not like we haven't gotten serious before right? haha

Well, we do like our serious topics dont we I dont want to piss anyone off here by giving my opinion and please tell me to shut the f**k up if i accidently say the wrong thing because 9/11 was devastating for America and i dont want to upset anyone here. For a start I dont believe Bin Laden is dead. I think hes being held and tortured somewhere for information and releasing the information that he is dead is all part of some plot to bring down other terrorists. And heres the part where I hope people dont get to upset with me, I dont believe 9/11 was a terrorist attack either. There is a documentry that exsists only online (for obvious reason it will never air on tv) and in this documentry it has the building architects explain how its would have been impossible for two planes to bring down the twin towers and demolition experts saying that the only way the building would have collasped the way it did, would have been with explosives planted on every floor. It also goes on to explain that the other plane that crashed into the penatagon, didnt actually leave behind any fragments of the plane anywhere, so where did the plane go? and its very convenient that the FBI got there within 2 minutes to take all the video evidence from all the surrounding cameras, none of which has ever been released. Im sorry guys but it all sound like a conspiracy to me, not to mention that some a couple of the terroists who were named and supposed to have died on the planes were seen alive a few weeks later, i never read any of those newspaper articles so i dont know how it explained that they were alive but theres something fishy going on.

I saw that documentary a few years ago, I have to say I wasn't too convinced by it.
Is he dead ? that one I just dont know, part of me thinks he is basically because I can imagine such a mission was never really an "apprehend" type but the info he might have would be one hell of a reason to keep him alive ?!?
I really dont know what to make of the whole thing, all I do know is that whatever has happened we are now back into a period of a much heightened possibility of attacks in revenge.

There will always be naysayers, people who will be skeptical no matter what you tell them. Even if the photos of Bin Laden's body were to be released, there will still be people who will dismiss it and claim it's a fake. In fact, there are even people who say Bin Laden was killed two years ago and has been on ice all this time... Some people are distrustful of Barack Obama simply because of his name, because they don't believe he's a "true American", because he does not represent their ideaologies. So, he must be lying,...right? Prove it. As for me, I could go either way. I wouldn't mind some physical proof, but I'm not going to immediately claim it's all a lie either. As for 9/11 conspiracy theories, here's an interesting article from Popular Mechanics, covering everything from the WTC to Flight 93. I suggest it be read: www.popularmechanics.com/911-mythsTo all of this nonsense, I say if you want to make a claim, you need to provide the evidence for it. Otherwise, I have no reason to listen to you.

indeed...honestly,I enjoy watching the different documentaries on things like this...not sure I have a solid opinion on whats truth and what isn't,but yeah, they're an interesting watch... No matter what happened we were always at risk of being attacked again. Dead or alive, that's what the guy did,he and his group, people like that, its unfortunate that something like this will never be completely silenced no matter which way you slice it. I don't think we ever left that period,we just made ourselves believe that it couldn't get any worse. On a fun(?) related note,I love these updates from Foamy when things happen. youtu.be/cmStbgJyNVU

Foamy is the master of the universe! It's a shame that we all live in a world where we will never know the truth about anything, we are told what they want us to know and everything else get buried behind red tape and it's not just the governments. anybody who has money has the means to cover things up if they think they stand a chance of losing said money, and they get away with it! Everybody s**ts on the little people, I say let's rebel!
As for Erins post, I quite like your current president he seems like he will do a good job in the White House. My problem is almost everybody have reasons to lie and it seems like nowadays nobody tells the truth anymore, look at our current government they got into power by promising certain things and the second they stepped in to their roles they immediately went back on their promises! People will do and say whatever they need to to achieve their objective.
So yes I am one of those people who won't believe anything I'm told, I'll look at the facts and draw my own conclusions. I dont think bin laden is dead but I do think there is a good reason for the lie and it is in the best intrest for everyone involved. As for 9/11 there are alot of people spilt down the middle on why things happened but we can all agree it was a tragedy that we hope will never be seen again. I only side with the conspiracy because the facts released don't make sense but I hope I'm wrong.

On another hand, 'tis a bit morbid to insist upon seeing photos of man with half his head blown off so you can sleep better at night. Until a lie is proven, I'm going to remain optimistic that the sonofaweasel is dead. And until one of those nutty conspiracies about 9/11 are proven (and so far, none of them have been), I'm going to believe it was a terrorist attack. Unless someone can prove that it wasn't actually a plane that flew into the South Tower on live television. And that bin Laden didn't claim personal responsibility.
The little people only get sh*t on because they're short and no one can see them.

Some exerpts from the article I linked to yesterday:
Following up on a May 2002 preliminary report by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a major study will be released in spring 2005 by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a branch of the U.S. Department of Commerce. NIST shared its initial findings with PM and made its lead researcher available to our team of reporters.
The NIST investigation revealed that plane debris sliced through the utility shafts at the North Tower's core, creating a conduit for burning jet fuel—and fiery destruction throughout the building. "It's very hard to document where the fuel went," says Forman Williams, a NIST adviser and a combustion expert, "but if it's atomized and combustible and gets to an ignition source, it'll go off."
Burning fuel traveling down the elevator shafts would have disrupted the elevator systems and caused extensive damage to the lobbies. NIST heard first-person testimony that "some elevators slammed right down" to the ground floor. "The doors cracked open on the lobby floor and flames came out and people died," says James Quintiere, an engineering professor at the University of Maryland and a NIST adviser. A similar observation was made in the French documentary "9/11," by Jules and Gedeon Naudet. As Jules Naudet entered the North Tower lobby, minutes after the first aircraft struck, he saw victims on fire, a scene he found too horrific to film."
Once each tower began to collapse, the weight of all the floors above the collapsed zone bore down with pulverizing force on the highest intact floor. Unable to absorb the massive energy, that floor would fail, transmitting the forces to the floor below, allowing the collapse to progress downward through the building in a chain reaction. Engineers call the process "pancaking," and it does not require an explosion to begin, according to David Biggs, a structural engineer at Ryan-Biggs Associates and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) team that worked on the FEMA report.
Like all office buildings, the WTC towers contained a huge volume of air. As they pancaked, all that air—along with the concrete and other debris pulverized by the force of the collapse—was ejected with enormous energy. "When you have a significant portion of a floor collapsing, it's going to shoot air and concrete dust out the window," NIST lead investigator Shyam Sunder tells PM. Those clouds of dust may create the impression of a controlled demolition, Sunder adds, "but it is the floor pancaking that leads to that perception."
Demolition expert Romero regrets that his comments to the Albuquerque Journal became fodder for conspiracy theorists. "I was misquoted in saying that I thought it was explosives that brought down the building," he tells PM. "I only said that that's what it looked like."
Romero, who agrees with the scientific conclusion that fire triggered the collapses, demanded a retraction from the Journal. It was printed Sept. 22, 2001. "I felt like my scientific reputation was on the line." But emperors-clothes.com saw something else: "The paymaster of Romero's research institute is the Pentagon. Directly or indirectly, pressure was brought to bear, forcing Romero to retract his original statement." Romero responds: "Conspiracy theorists came out saying that the government got to me. That is the farthest thing from the truth. This has been an albatross around my neck for three years."
Draw your own conclusions. Then draw me a picture of a flower with a happy face because I want to smile today.

I'm gonna stop with my conspiracy theories before all you guys decide to leave the forum. I'm in no position to argue with you guys, I dont live in the US so i don't know just how bad the effect on everyone was, so my opinion means nothing, but articles like that dont give enough information to convince me.

Opinions are never nothing,Hayley, they can't be wrong if it's what you think, and honestly even though you're not from the US,9/11 affected everyone. I think we're all adult enough on here to respect each others opinions.

I still need to stop talking though lol. I use the Internet to rant too much and when ive had a rough day I have a tendency to start arguing my point a little too much which usually ends up with pissing off everyone involved and for some reason I can't seem to stop typing when I really shouldn't say anything. Just to demonstrate I've actually managed to piss keavy off before!

Everythings fine now, this was last year sometime and a few people asked me to express a concern they had to the girls, as there was quite a few different people saying the same thing, I thought there wouldn't be any harm in passing on the info however I didn't do it very well and I think I ended up critising what they were doing. Fair play to keavy though for writing back!
