Just by luck I had London Tonight on and suddenly I saw Keavy and Edele! Newswoman: Popstars trying to make a comeback is nothing new but returning to the music scene with a totally new sound and totally new image isn’t that common..in fact our next story is about a set of popstar twins who are trying to re-invent themselves and hoping to follow in the footsteps of some other successful music stars. Sarah Mills reports

Sarah Mills: Charlotte Church switched her classical voice of an angel act to become a raunchy popstar (clip of “crazy chick”). While Mylene Klass went from pop with reality show winners Hearsay (clip of “Pure And Simple”) to classical (clip of her playing piano). Now the twins from B*Witched are back (clip of “C’est La Vie”) but, you guessed it, they don’t look or sound anything like this any more…Keavy and Edele Lynch have reinvented themselves as new futuristic band Barbarellas (clip of “Body Rock”)
Edele: Well the idea was just to, I mean we’ve just grown up. We’ve lived 10 years since we were actually here before in the music business. We’ve grown up we’ve, I’ve got a family now and I’ve got two kids and it was just really to express ourselves as we are now ..you know it’s a lot more about femininity and sexuality. I don’t think we were even allowed to mention the word sex back in the day (Keavy laughs) It was just like “don’t even know what it is”
Sarah Mills: Handily for Surrey based Keavy it was here at Camelot studios in West London where the girls brought their new sound to life and it’s all systems go..their self penned debut album “Nightmode” is due out next april. While the first single from the record “Body Rock” will hit the streets in January
Keavy: It’s electro-pop, it’s dancefloor, its fun it makes you feel like wanna dancing..”wanna dancing?” (pulls funny face and both laugh). But on the album there’s a few heart felt songs aswell erm so yeah it’s fun really emotional
Sarah: of course not all acts want to completely re-invent themselves .Take That have made one of the most impressive come backs of all time, but Keavy and Edele knew they didn’t want to reform their 90s act
Edele: we’ve been asked and its been offered a couple of times but its just not what we’re interested in
Keavy: yeah we just knew we wanted to be back in music and we knew we had to find, do the right thing and we wanted this to be it
