It's basically a way of anonymously showing a member that you appreciate them. Or don't.
"+" means "I like you".
"-" means "I don't" or "I don't like/agree with what you're saying" or "You're getting on my nerves". etc.
So to speak.
It's a way of agreeing. Or disagreeing, while avoiding confrontation. The more pluses, the bigger your karma number. The more minuses, the less.
Hopefully, nobody gets too many minuses.

you know what would be cool? this is a random suggestion....an idea I got from another forum I'm on...forum sprites,as ranks...like...a little edele sprite,keavy sprite etc...when you get to a certain amount of posts you get a sprite,like...B*Edele/Keavy Sprite for beginning...then like...ML*Edele/Keavy sprite for a lot of posts...am I even making sense?
Anyway,I thought that'd be cool.Even though I have no idea how to design sprites...

It can either be a little fairy-type creature, some kind of Internet "doll" or a lemon-lime flavored soft drink distributed by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. I think Annie may be referring to one of the first two.

it was just a random thought,I have a lot of those,but yeah its like the "internet doll" that erin mentioned,something like that.
